The Cloverfield Paradox was a moderately interesting movie. It was meant to be a super hardcore horror movie, but I think it more than halfway humorous. The acting was decent and the set was amazing, but there was just something about this movie that made it hard to watch at times because it got so boring. Unlike the other movies in the Cloverfield series produced by JJ Abrams, this movie didn't receive amazing or out-of-this-world reviews. It was just deemed "okay", and I totally agree. This film was nothing special, just your typical scary space movie. The ending of the movie and the connection between characters from this movie and the characters 10 Cloverfield Lane were the only two parts I really liked. People from different countries get sent into space and accidentally find themselves in another dimension that is even deadlier than theirs. This movie is an okay thriller for when you are just looking for something to watch on Netflix. I would give this film a solid 5/10.

THE FLORIDA PROJECT The Florida Project was truly an experience. Throughout this movie I experienced a whirlwind of emotions, starting with a feeling of happiness and being free to a feeling of heartbreak and longing. The movie starts with a scene that at first glance would seem to be a horrible situation. Six-year-old Moonee lives with her mother Halley in a motel in Kissimmee, Florida called the Magic Castle. The Magic Castle is located near Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Moonee spends most of her days playing and running around with her friends, Scooty and Dicky. They steal from tourists, mooch money off of people, and are always up to some kind of mischief. Little does Moonee know, this might be her worst summer yet. Let me just say this: The little girl who played Moonee (Brooklynn Price) and the woman who played Halley (Bria Vinaite) did a fabulous job. I was shocked by the performances of the little kids in this movie. They portrayed their sadness (and happiness) so well. I would definitely watch this movie again. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good drama film. The ending of this movie almost made me cry. It was so beautiful, yet so sad. Once again, I definitely recommend this movie. I would give The Florida Project four out of five stars. |
